Château du Val d’Or and Chateau Lideyre are part of the Vignobles Bardet, a notable family in the wine industry since 1704.

Established on the Dordogne river banks,
the Bardet used to transport their wine on the typical boats called Gabare.

The family sailed its wines in barrels down the river from Saint-Emilion all the way to the wine capital: Bordeaux.

The Gabare boat slowly lost its role when the train reached Saint-Emilion, but the water has always been at the heart of the Bardet family, still nestled on the beautiful river.
